pfd Studios Titlist conversion, Hoppe-style, #1 of 6 (PFD99-T61)

This 4-point classic Hoppe-style cue is one of an edition of six cues built by Paul Drexler in 1999 as an homage to Herman Rambow, using full-spliced one-piece Titlists made by Brunswick in the late 1940's/early 1950's.

Description:
The four rosewood points have four traditionally colored veneers of dyed maple. The forearm is straight-grain maple.  The Titlist, when fitted with a brass joint and leather wrap, was sold as the “Hoppe” cue. In the Rambow style, the butt sleeve has an ivory decorative ring and black phenolic butt cap.  Rather than using a brass joint, Paul updated the cue with a piloted ivory joint and a Uni-Loc pin.  The wrap is the traditional white with green speck Irish linen.

The full-spliced maple forearm has rosewood prongs with four colored veneers (purple, turquoise, brown, natural maple). Rosewood butt sleeve; hand written on the ivory “Hoppe” ring “#1 of 6 3-15-99 Pfd Studios.” Piloted ivory Uni-Loc joint with gold pin, black linen phenolic collars with single silver ring (D&E). White with green speck linen wrap, clean overall, but with some light brown spots.  The cue was in excellent 95% condition.

Two shafts with ivory ferrules, unchalked tips:
Shaft #1 4-1/4 oz. (118g), 13.15mm; shaft #2: 4-3/8 oz. (124g), 13.4mm.
Butt: 15-3/8 oz. (434g).
Weight: 20-5/8 - 20-3/4 oz., depending on shaft used.
Length: 58 inches; butt and shafts are each 29 inches.uded a full set of Uni-Loc joint protectors.
